This started with my 2005 Jaguar S-Type. I loved the shape of that car. I did not love the repair bills. So here is the simple idea: list your classic, and EV conversion shops bid to strip it and rebuild it fully electric. Best price and fastest delivery wins, even if the shop is three states or three borders away. We sort the shipping.
No listing fee for owners. Shops pay a 10% fee on a winning bid, same as our sister marketplace FilmMortal. Your money stays protected until the car comes back to you, converted.
We pull the year, make, model and engine straight from the national vehicle database. No typing it all out.
Conversion specialists bid price and delivery time. You see battery size, range, warranty and whether shipping is included.
Lowest credible price, fastest honest timeline. Pay a deposit that stays held, not handed over, until the work checks out.
Same car you love. Quiet, quick, and it starts every morning.
Live board. New listings appear here the moment an owner posts them. Open in the US, every European country, Australia, India and New Zealand — each car priced in its own currency.
You do the work, you set your price. Bid on any car on the board with your best number and your honest timeline. If you win, the owner's deposit is held on the platform and released in stages as the job hits agreed checkpoints, with photo proof at each one. Out-of-state job? Quote shipping in your bid and say so. A lot of owners would rather ship a car to the right shop than settle for the nearest one.
Shop accounts are open now, in every country on the list form. Verification badges land with the full backend.
Shops, kit makers and suppliers already listed on Swaxcar. Claimed profiles are run by the business itself. Is yours here unclaimed? The claim link went to your published email, or write to us and we will resend it.

Every conversion on this board needs parts and a place to be seen. Four ways in:
Your packs, named in the bid spec. Owners pick range, shops pick suppliers. Get your cells on the shortlist.
Bolt-in kits are how a 6-month job becomes a 6-week job. Featured kit badges on matching cars.
Got a classic on your lot that will not sell because it does not run right? List it as a conversion candidate and sell it minted.
Bring your members. Club pages, club-only featured listings, and first look at cars from your marque.
Sponsor slots are priced per campaign, one payment, no monthly plan. Write to us from the footer and tell us which lane you want.
We will not dress this up. There is no US federal grant that pays to convert a classic car, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. Here is what is real, and we check your eligibility for free before you list:
Income-qualified drivers who retire an old polluting car can get up to $12,000 toward a clean replacement, plus up to $2,000 for charging. It pays for a replacement car, not a conversion, and we will tell you straight if that beats converting yours.
Statewide California help for lower-income drivers, up to $10,000 with scrapping an old vehicle. Same deal: replacement money, worth checking before you spend your own.
California's HVIP program supports certain approved conversion systems on the commercial side. If your shop fits, we flag it on your bids.
A converted car from 1976 or newer needs a BAR referee inspection to be road legal in California. Every California winner's checklist on here includes it, so there are no surprises at the end.
Owners and shops in all of these countries can list and bid, priced in their own currency. The money help and the paperwork differ by country, so here is the honest version for the new regions too:
France actually pays toward conversions. The prime au rétrofit covers up to 80% of the conversion cost, capped at €5,000 for lower-income owners and €1,500 at other incomes, when the work is done by a qualified professional and the car stays yours for at least a year. It is the best deal in Europe and French shops on here know the paperwork.
Most European countries do not pay for conversions, but they do allow them. The car needs its national approval after the swap: TÜV individual approval in Germany, the DVLA route in the UK, and the local equivalent everywhere else. Shops bid with that inspection included, so the price you see is the road-legal price.
Conversions are legal in India through one clear route: an ARAI or ICAT type-approved kit, fitted by an authorised installer, then inspected and endorsed on the registration certificate at the RTO. Typical car conversions run ₹3 to 8 lakh, and some states waive road tax on converted cars. Shops here bid approved kits only.
No conversion grants in either country right now, and we will not pretend otherwise. What both have is a clear sign-off path: an engineer's certificate for modified vehicles in Australia, and LVV certification in New Zealand. Win the bid and that certification is one of your delivery checkpoints.
Your bidders already found the car. Half of them are doing the maths on what an electric swap would cost. Add one button and let them find out:

The VIN carries over, the car lands on our board pre-filled, and your site gets credited as the source on the listing.
We get it. The sound, the smell, the ritual. Nobody here is coming for the car you show on Sundays. Swaxcar is for the classic that sits under a cover because it broke again, the one you love looking at and dread starting. Keep the shape. Keep the soul. Lose the tow truck. And where a shop can do it, ask for a reversible conversion, so the original engine stays with the car.
